RARE Antique Victorian Era Carved Pre-Ban Ivory Necklace & Pendant.

Circa 1890s • Extra Length • Master Carver Work.

A breathtaking late Victorian statement necklace showcasing the extraordinary hand-skills of 19th-century carvers. Pieces like this were luxury objects in their day — wearable sculpture rather than simple jewellery.

*The Necklace :
• Extra-length strand.
• Graduated hand-carved round pre-ban ivory beads.
• Soft, warm creamy tone with natural grain lines.
• Fitted with an pre-ban ivory screw-barrel clasp, also carved.

The graduation gives beautiful drape and that unmistakable antique elegance. Each bead shows subtle variations — a sign of hand shaping rather than modern machining.

*The Pendant — The Star of the Show :
The oval pendant is exceptional!
It is carved in a deep, dimensional relief, almost sculptural rather than flat, featuring:
• Layered blooming flowers.
• Curled petals with lifelike shaping.
• Open pierced carving between the floral elements.
• A raised central blossom that stands proud from the surface.

The piercing allows light to pass through, giving the piece an airy lace-like effect while still remaining richly detailed. This level of carving required serious skill — one slip could ruin the entire plaque!
