Collection: Modernist MCM (1960-1975)

During the Mid Century period, jewelry and fashion embraced a wider range of styles compared to previous periods. The rise of large jewelry companies at a national level, along with an increase in smaller jewelry stores, provided customers with a greater variety of choices than previously available. Returnees from international conflicts and the rise of globalization have helped to disseminate design concepts worldwide. While we can discuss certain features of jewelry from that era, there was also a notable variety that started then and persists until now. The buyer was one of the most significant alterations during this period. In previous times, men were the main creators and purchasers of jewelry, while women were the ones receiving it. In the 1960s, there was an increase in the number of women who started working as jewelers and got involved in the field of fashion design. However, with the household evolving and more women joining the workforce, women started purchasing their own jewelry and selecting their own fashion trends, leading to unprecedented transformations in the jewelry sector and contributing to its variety in design.

Frequently, the emphasis was on unique concepts and artistic representation, leading to a more stylized look for items from this period, ultimately affecting their value in the market.
