ANTON MICHELSEN DANISH DAISY BROOCH.
Vintage 1970’s | Sterling Silver & White Enamel | Scandinavian Design Icon.
A rare beauty — this vintage Danish “Daisy” brooch is crafted in sterling silver with crisp white enamel, created by the renowned Danish jewellery house Anton Michelsen.
The design is pure Scandinavian modernism: clean lines, perfect symmetry, and that fresh, graphic white-on-silver contrast. The raised textured centre mimics the natural detail of a daisy, while the glossy enamel petals radiate outward in a beautifully balanced sunburst form.
Condition note: There is a tiny enamel chip on one petal — not noticeable when worn and reflected in the price.
Comparable piece recently sold: approx $95 (±R1500) — also with a small enamel chip.(See last picture)
Anton Michelsen was one of Denmark’s most important historic jewellers, founded in Copenhagen in 1841. The company became famous for:
• Supplying jewellery to the Danish Royal Court .
• Pioneering Scandinavian modernist silver design.
• Collaborating with major designers throughout the 20th century.
The Danish Daisy design is especially iconic. It became a beloved national motif after a similar daisy brooch was gifted to Princess Margrethe (later Queen Margrethe II of Denmark) in 1940, turning the flower into a symbol of hope, resilience, and Danish identity.
Measurements : The brooch measures 3.2cm in diameter and weight of 10 grams
