A striking and powerful vintage cuff bangle from the 1970s, crafted in silver-plated metal and embodying the unmistakable spirit of modernist brutalist design—where jewellery becomes wearable sculpture.
This piece is all about texture, contrast, and raw expression. The wide cuff form is constructed from a solid, slightly curved plate, giving it a strong architectural presence on the wrist. The surface has developed a deep, moody patina, enhancing its industrial, almost forged aesthetic.
At the centre sits a dramatic applied molten-style silver element—a rugged, organic formation that looks as though the metal has been poured, fused, and frozen in time. This highly textured section contrasts beautifully against the smoother body of the cuff, creating that signature brutalist tension between refined form and raw material.
Flanking the central feature are raised rivet-like accents, reinforcing the piece’s industrial, almost armour-like feel. The edges are intentionally irregular and slightly rough, further emphasizing its handmade, artisan origins.
