A truly beautiful and oversized antique Victorian-era sterling silver brooch, centred with a wonderfully detailed hand-painted miniature landscape scene, preserved beneath its original domed glass.

The miniature depicts an idyllic architectural scene with an old church or village building, bridge, trees and tiny figures in the foreground — almost like carrying a little Victorian painting with you. The soft colours and minute brushwork are especially charming when viewed up close.

Surrounding the miniature is an elaborate sterling silver filigree frame, worked with scrolling wirework, tiny silver beads and floral rosettes. The generous proportions make this a fabulous statement piece, while the reverse retains its traditional long brooch pin fitting.
