A truly soulful treasure from Imperial China, this generously sized pendant is exquisitely hand-carved from pale celadon Hetian (Hotan) jade and dates to the Qing Dynasty (circa mid–late 19th century, approx. 1800s). The carving is wonderfully fluid and deeply symbolic, featuring a majestic phoenix rendered in elegant openwork, nestled amongst scrolling florals and foliate tendrils.
