ANCIENT EGYPT IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND!! | CARVED STEATITE SCARAB.

OBSESSED with this tiny piece of history!!

A wonderfully tactile hand-carved Ancient Egyptian steatite scarab beetle with the beetle beautifully modelled across the domed upper surface and an engraved design to the flat underside.

The scarab is also pierced longitudinally through the body, allowing it to be strung, mounted or incorporated into a bespoke piece of jewellery.

And the symbolism behind these little treasures is just incredible!!

To the Ancient Egyptians, the scarab beetle was closely associated with Khepri, the manifestation of the rising sun. As the sun appeared to be reborn each morning, the scarab became a powerful symbol of rebirth, regeneration, transformation and protection.

Scarabs were worn as amulets, incorporated into jewellery and carried throughout life — and examples were also placed with the dead as protective objects for the journey into the afterlife.

AND THIS ONE IS BEGGING TO BECOME A RING!!

Imagine it mounted in a chunky handmade gold or sterling silver setting, preserving the scarab itself while turning something created centuries ago into an incredible wearable talisman!
