Amazingly cool and wonderfully different! This unisex designer ring by South African jewellery house SITU is a fabulous example of their innovative approach to diamond jewellery.
Crafted in solid sterling silver, the ring has a bold Modernist square silhouette, with a substantial tapered band framing a glossy black resin centre. Suspended within the resin is a beautiful baguette-cut diamond, creating SITU’s signature illusion of a diamond seemingly floating without traditional claws or settings.
SITU was created through a collaboration between acclaimed South African jewellers Philippa Green and Ida Elsje, together with architect and diamantaire Gregory Katz. The concept became known for suspending diamonds within resin, freeing the stones from conventional metal settings and giving the jewellery its wonderfully architectural, contemporary appearance The strong squared profile, monochrome black-and-silver palette and single geometric baguette diamond give this one an almost Art Deco-meets-Modernist feel — understated, masculine and incredibly stylish!
