An exceptionally rare early 19th-century Georgian mourning pendant, crafted in sterling silver and lavishly decorated with royal blue and white enamel, glittering paste stones, and natural diamonds.
At the centre sits a beautifully detailed mourning urn, one of the most iconic symbols in Georgian memorial jewellery. The urn is adorned with two genuine natural diamonds, while the surrounding clear stones are high-quality Georgian paste, hand-set in closed-back settings to intensify their candlelight sparkle.
Encircling the urn is a halo of paste stones, framed by:
* White enamel outer border.
*Rich cobalt blue enamel inner field.
*Matching blue enamel bail.
The colour contrast is dramatic, elegant, and unmistakably Georgian.
In the late 1700s and early 1800s, mourning jewellery was deeply symbolic and highly personal. These pieces commemorated loved ones and were worn as tokens of memory and devotion.
The urn motif represents:

Blue enamel was often used to represent heaven, eternity, and faith, while white enamel symbolized purity and remembrance.
