An incredible hand-knapped quartz arrowhead / projectile point, acquired as a Native American archaeological find from the western Appalachian region of North Carolina, USA.

Fashioned from beautiful pale natural quartz, the point has been painstakingly worked into its distinctive elongated triangular form, with defined shoulders and a stemmed base designed for hafting onto a shaft. You can still see the individual flake scars left behind by the knapping process — each tiny strike helping transform a piece of stone into a functional tool.

The information accompanying the piece attributes it to the Late Prehistoric / Woodland tradition, approximately 500–1,500 years old.
