Antique Art Deco Brass & Enamel Miniature Picture Frame (c.1920s).
This exquisite little treasure is a miniature photo frame dating to the Art Deco era of the 1920s. Despite its small size, it is richly decorated and finely crafted, making it both a functional keepsake and a wearable piece of history.
Made from brass with a warm golden tone, the surface is hand-finished with vibrant champlevé enamel work in jewel-like shades of turquoise blue, deep red, navy, ivory, and dark cobalt. The enamel forms scrolling foliate motifs at each corner and along the sides, creating a lively and colorful border around the central photograph.
The original glass still protects the photograph, a rare survival for pieces of this age.
The back is fitted with its original brass easel stand, stamped with a maker’s mark (“AF”), and hinged for stability. This design allows the piece to stand freely on a surface or, if preferred, be adapted to wear as a pendant or locket-style charm.
