RARE FIND!!Antique Victorian Era c.1887 Sterling Silver & Enamel Queen Victoria Shilling Fob Pendant.

A true little treasure from the heart of the British Empire — and an absolute EWJ-worthy collectible!
Up for grabs is this magnificent antique Victorian fob pendant, crafted circa 1887, the very year often associated with Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee. This extraordinary piece features an authentic sterling silver Queen Victoria shilling coin, beautifully gold-gilded and enamelled, and lovingly preserved behind double glass windows — allowing you to admire both sides of the coin in all its regal splendour.

The coin sits in a sterling silver bezel-style frame adorned with charming beaded accents around the circumference — a classic Victorian detail usually found on high-end fobs and watch pendants.

The front window displays the vibrant hand-applied enamel heraldic shield — a colourful, rare detail that elevates this from “just a coin pendant” into a miniature work of art.

Flip it over and you’re greeted by Victoria herself — the beloved “Old Head / Jubilee Head” portrait, beautifully highlighted by the original gold-gilding.
The glass windows protect the coin from wear, preserving the colour, the relief, and the history exactly as it survived from the 19th century.

Victorian coin pendants were highly symbolic keepsakes worn on watch chains, chatelaines, or guard chains — proudly displaying loyalty to the Crown or marking important national moments.

Similar examples with enamel and glass framing are currently priced between $99 and $172 online (R1600 - R2900) — often in poorer condition or lacking gilding.(See last picture)

Measurements : The pendant measures 2.4cm in diameter and weight of 6.8 grams.
