CHUNK OF SILVER!This vintage pendant is a bold and striking example of late 1970s British silver craftsmanship, modeled in the style of a "chocolate bar" or ingot.

Cast in high-purity Britannia silver (hallmarked 958), which is purer than traditional sterling silver (925), the piece was assayed in London in 1979, as indicated by the clear set of vertical hallmarks stamped down its front. These include the maker's mark “DG”, the 958 fineness mark, the traditional Britannia standard mark, and the date letter “e” in a shield, denoting the year.

The pendant’s form echoes the bullion-style aesthetic popular during the 1970s silver boom, when precious metal jewelry took on minimalist, industrial shapes that conveyed both value and style.

Suspended from a simple jump ring, this solid bar exudes weight and substance, making it both a fashionable statement piece and a tangible asset.

Such pendants are now considered collectible, cherished for their purity, their hallmark history, and their bold, utilitarian design rooted in an era when silver itself became a cultural icon.
