THE HISTORY OF FRENCH JET
Although often mistaken for natural jet, French jet is actually a beautifully crafted black glass that became immensely fashionable during the Victorian era. Produced primarily in France and Bohemia during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it was prized for its rich ebony colour, brilliant sparkle and lighter weight compared to natural Whitby jet. French jet jewellery became synonymous with elegance and sophistication, gracing everything from Parisian salons to glamorous evening soirées, and remains highly sought after by collectors today.
