How UNUSUAL are these!! A seriously striking pair of sterling silver drop earrings, each set with a generously sized elongated Bumblebee Jasper cabochon.
The stones display that unmistakable earthy palette of mustard yellow, cream, grey and dark natural markings, with each cabochon completely individual — almost like tiny abstract landscapes created by nature. BUMBLEBEE JASPER is actually a fascinating trade name — despite being called “jasper,” the material is not a true jasper, but a colourful volcanic material formed from a mixture of minerals. Its dramatic yellow, orange, cream and black patterning is what inspired the fabulous Bumblebee name.
