MAGNIFICENT & RARE 1940s ITALIAN CAMEO TREASURE — A MASTERPIECE OF SILVER FILIGREE ARTISTRY.

This beautiful and luxuriously chunky vintage 1940s Italian bracelet is crafted in 800 silver, a silver purity widely used in Italy during the early to mid-20th century, prized for its strength and rich, antique tone.

The bracelet is composed of five large articulated filigree panels, each one a miniature world of swirling silver spirals, granules, and lace-like wirework — the kind of hand-wrought filigree that Italy became world-famous for.

At the heart of three of these panels sit the stars of the show:

Oval hand-carved shell cameos, masterfully sculpted with fine detail and an unmistakable 1940s Italian elegance. Each cameo depicts the serene profile of Psyche, the beloved Greek goddess symbolising the soul, transformation, and divine love. She is shown with her iconic butterfly wings woven into her hair, a poetic nod to her name — “Psyche” meaning both soul and butterfly in ancient Greek.

Her features are beautifully rendered: soft curls, gentle gaze, and floral adornments, each cameo slightly unique — a reminder that these were carved by a skilled artisan’s hand, not stamped by machine.
The other two panels feature full ornamental floral filigree medallions, perfectly balancing the composition and giving the bracelet a rich, symmetrical presence.

The construction is fully articulated, allowing the bracelet to curve comfortably around the wrist, moving with you like a piece of living silver lace.
The bracelet closes securely with its original push-in box clasp, neatly integrated into the final filigree panel — a clever piece of traditional Italian engineering.

Comparable Italian cameo filigree bracelets from the 1930s–40s often sell internationally for $180–$350 (R3,200–R6,500) depending on craftsmanship and condition - and this one is a top-tier example!
