Up for grabs is this magnificent Antique Edwardian Era Hallmarked Solid 18ct Yellow Gold, Natural Opal & Diamond Half Eternity Ring, made in London circa 1900 and hallmarked accordingly.
Over 125 YEARS OLD and still an absolute showstopper!!
The ring features three graduated oval Opal cabochons, with the largest positioned beautifully in the centre, displaying wonderful flashes of pink, green, blue and fiery orange as the ring moves through the light.
Nestled between the Opals are four small Diamonds, adding that gorgeous subtle sparkle that works SO beautifully alongside the play-of-colour of the Opals.
The gems are arranged across the finger in that wonderfully romantic late Victorian / early Edwardian style, all set into rich 18ct yellow gold with beautifully shaped shoulders.
Opals were enormously fashionable during the Victorian and Edwardian periods, and surviving examples combining Opals, Diamonds AND high-carat gold have become extremely collectable today.
Even better — this beauty comes displayed in a fabulous antique leather ring box, marked inside:
