Now THIS is seriously cool!! An incredibly unusual South African designer full-eternity stacking ring by Situ, combining precious 18ct gold and diamonds with bold contemporary materials in a design that feels wonderfully modern and completely different.
Situ was established in 2006 by acclaimed South African jewellery designers Ida Elsje and Philippa Green. Both designers became well known for their distinctive contemporary jewellery, and Situ brought their creative approaches together in a playful collection of highly wearable pieces. The Situ brand is no longer in operation, making surviving pieces increasingly interesting examples of contemporary South African designer jewellery.
This fabulous ring is crafted in solid 18ct white gold, with a striking deep red centre running continuously around the band. Within the designer’s signature resin-style centre are eight individually spaced round-cut diamonds, appearing almost to float against the rich red background.
And here's the kicker… the 18ct gold value alone works out to approx R10,000!!
A wonderfully funky piece of South African contemporary jewellery design — precious, playful and definitely not something you'll see on every second finger!
