RARE FIND! FOR THE BOYS!

Presenting a vintage circa 1967 Seiko “Sea Lion M88” Automatic Weekdater (Ref. 6206-8050), a handsome classic from Seiko’s golden era of mechanical watchmaking.

This timepiece is powered by Seiko’s highly regarded 26-jewel 6206 automatic movement, part of the Seiko Weekdater family that marked Seiko’s early exploration into practical automatic watches with dual day-date complications.

The watch features a beautifully aged gold-plated cushion case with soft lines and solid wrist presence, complemented by a crisp silver sunburst dial adorned with subtle crosshair detailing. The day-date window at 3 o’clock and the applied gold-tone indices lend it a refined, mid-century executive charm. The Seiko logo and “WEEKDATER – 26 JEWELS” signature remain clear and proudly displayed.

Flipping it over reveals the iconic “Sea Lion” medallion caseback engraving, a signature symbol from the mid-1960s when Seiko designated its various water-resistance tiers with animal motifs (Sea Lion for moderate waterproofing, Dolphin for higher resistance, etc.). The caseback is clearly stamped Seiko 6206-8050 – Stainless Steel Back – Water Proof – Sea Lion M88, with the original serial number 7545334, dating the watch precisely to May 1967.

It is fitted with a brand-new dark brown genuine leather strap that enhances its vintage aesthetic while providing comfortable wear. The movement runs smoothly and keeps time well — a testament to Seiko’s enduring craftsmanship.

You won’t easily find another example of this model available today. Only a handful appear on collector markets, with a recent comparable example selling for around £158 (≈R3,600) — and those rarely in such fine working condition!
