Such a fabulous piece of 1980s Seiko! Dating to circa 1986, this elegant ladies’ quartz watch has that wonderfully understated Japanese vintage styling that has become increasingly collectible.

The watch features a petite round silver-tone case surrounding a beautiful champagne dial with gold-tone accents. The minimalist dial is particularly striking, with its dark outer chapter ring, geometric markers and unusual decorative detailing to the hands — simple at first glance, but wonderfully distinctive up close.

Powered by Seiko’s 2P20 quartz movement, the stainless-steel case back is clearly signed SEIKO, with reference 2P20-0120. Finished on a classic black leather strap, it has a wonderfully timeless look that could just as easily be worn today.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE: Vintage Seiko watches of this style and period are increasingly sought after, with comparable examples being offered internationally at prices exceeding R2,500, depending on condition and originality.

CONDITION NOTE: The watch is in working condition but currently requires a new battery to be fitted. The glass/crystal has visible light scratching from age and wear, as shown in the photographs, and the watch has been priced accordingly.
