This is an antique Victorian-era cameo pendant, dating from the mid-to-late 19th century, crafted in the popular Neoclassical Revival style that dominated jewelry of the time.
The cameo itself is executed in black and white glass (often referred to as “lava glass” or “onyx glass”), imitating the prized two-layer hardstone cameos of earlier centuries.
The carving depicts a left-facing male bust in profile, styled as a Roman emperor ( possibly Julius Caesar). His hair is finely detailed and bound with a laurel wreath crown, the traditional emblem of triumph and authority in Roman culture. His attire includes a classical draped cloak and a decorative gorget or armor-like collar, lending him both imperial dignity and martial strength. The bust is raised crisply in white relief against a deep glossy black ground, giving a striking contrast typical of quality glass cameos.
The cameo is mounted in a simple "newer/modern" oval golden-brass bezel frame, polished to highlight the contrast of the dark setting with the white relief. The back is closed, and a sturdy suspension loop with jump ring allows the pendant to be worn on a chain.

Measurements :The cameo measures 2.4cm x 1.5cm.The pendant with a weight of 6.3grams.
