OBSESSED — 1920s Art Deco Baltic Amber “Aztec Revival” Necklace.

Ancient resin. Modernist geometry. Tribal attitude.

This marvelous Art Deco era (circa 1920s) Baltic amber necklace is crafted in a striking Aztec / Mesoamerican revival style — a design movement that exploded during the Deco period when the world became fascinated with archaeology, ancient cultures, and bold geometric symbolism.

At the centre hangs an unusual carved cognac Baltic amber pendant, stylised in what feels like an Aztec mask or totem form.
It features:
• Bold geometric carving.
• Stepped architectural lines.
• Symmetrical, mask-like structure.
• Rich honey-to-cognac translucency.

When held to light, you can see that dreamy internal glow that only true Baltic amber gives — warm, golden, almost alive.

It’s giving: Ancient temple guardian meets 1920s Paris avant-garde.

The necklace is beautifully composed with:
• Six oval hand-carved accent beads with textured detailing.
• Graduated round amber beads.
• Deep caramel and warm honey tones.
• Subtle natural inclusions within the resin.

Those carved oval beads with classic Deco craftsmanship — dimensional, tactile, and slightly tribal in influence.

And yes… they were hand carved. No modern laser precision here!

Baltic amber is fossilised tree resin, formed between 20 and 40 million years ago — long before humans ever existed.

It originates primarily from the Baltic region (Lithuania, Poland, Russia), and for centuries it was:
• Traded along ancient Amber Roads.
• Worn as protective talismans.
• Believed to carry healing and calming energy.
• Associated with the sun due to its warm glow.

By the 1920s, amber became wildly fashionable again during the Art Deco period — especially in bold, carved, revivalist designs inspired by Egyptian, Aztec, and global motifs.

This piece fits perfectly into that era of fascination with the ancient world.
