The stones display iolite’s gorgeous inky violet-blue colouring, shifting between deep indigo, blue and purple as the ring moves in the light. The open prong settings allow plenty of light into each gemstone, while the polished sterling silver band keeps the overall look clean and contemporary.

IOLITE — sometimes called the “Viking’s Compass” — is famous for its strong pleochroism, meaning it can display noticeably different colours depending on the viewing angle. Legend holds that Viking navigators used thin pieces of iolite to help locate the sun on overcast days.
